What if I don’t know where my spouse is?
It becomes more complex and more expensive, but you can still get a divorce. There are also services available for a fee to attempt to locate your spouse. With a good address, we can then mail them the paperwork, and hopefully, they will sign off on the paperwork. If they won't sign, we can try other methods, such as certified mail or having the Sheriff serve them the paperwork. Unfortunately, these all cost more money beyond our base fee of $150.
We have had success with these methods in the past. If we still can’t get service on them, we can attempt to use Service by Publication. This involves publishing advertisements in the newspaper for three consecutive weeks and then creating an affidavit stating all the methods we attempted to find your spouse, to prove to the Judge that they could not be found. This method is both the longest and the most expensive, however.
